What a melancholy story of the separation and that fateful day in Kansas. What fate that brought them together where they least thought the other would be. Wonderful!

A lovely, gentle story of self discovery and renewal of a steadfast bond.

Wonderful story, both poignant and uplifting; one of the few I have read that takes them back to the scene of the tragedy. I enjoyed it very much.

I liked this a lot. Very moving, yes, full of angst. Something spoke to each of them for them to arrive at almost the same time. I am glad that they could share some of their good memories with each other.

This was full of sadness and angst, but at the same time uplifting and with a gratifying ending. A realistic interpretation of the events implied in the show. After a lifetime of burying something that tragic a purging would indeed be necessary if a person wanted to find closure and move forward. You write emotional angst so well! Loved it!

Loved reading this story. I admit there was a whole lot of crying while reading but so glad they found their way back to each other.

How very sweet this story was! What a fantastic way for them to purge bad memories and re-unite with their soul partner, all in one simple act. A guardian angel truly was watching over them. A good story idea that really drew me in, particularly in your description of Heyes's musings of his past. Nicely done!

Going home means different things to different people. For most it's a good feeling. A time to reflect on the past that made one who and what they are today. For Curry and Heyes the memory was far more difficult as was being half of what use to be whole. The shattered reflection help to put the two friends in a position to understand how much they needed to be together and how much each needed the other to complete themselves. Enjoyable read, well done.

Your poetry at the beginning reflects a lot of the plot. I very much like your ability to describe their thoughts in your unique smooth and pleasant, well phrased style. Very good your example of Heyes on New Year, surrounded by as many people he could wish for, but nevertheless alone. You have a beautiful way to "slip" into his mind. A new beginning after each of them tried to make peace with their past. Curry listens and is susceptible that now it's his time to show a little gratitude, even if the odds might be less good to travel together. He realizes he needs his other half, too. I love the idea that he tries to give Heyes something back. It's his turn to stabilize his older partner. Together, as a team, life isn't easier, but they feel better. Together as a whole.

Oh. so much angst. Kid would figure Heyes would be better without his temper. Heyes was so depressed at the gravesite, perfect the way Kid was drawn there too.
Thank you for a great read.

Very emotional, but very believable. Going home after so many years and facing the memories of what had happened there would indeed be an emotional experience. Your depiction of what took place there made for a compelling read. Well done!

This was such a moving and beautifully written story. I had a huge lump in my throat while reading it. I could actually FEEL Heyes’s loneliness. I was so relieved and happy when Kid showed up when he did and finally understood that he and Heyes were better and stronger together as a team.

Absolutley wonderful. I could feel the emotions jump off the page. I actually got teary eyed reading the part of Heyes sitting at his family's grave.

Melancholy and poignant story, moving seamlessly between the distant past and the present. You have a talent for writing with a strong understanding of the underlying psychological make up of the partners, especially Heyes.
